So we built Taels. An Australian-born Chinese family business, helping people create jewellery that feels like them β their story, their people, their moment.

The journey to creating Taels began with Emβs childhood, watching her dad transform raw materials into treasured heirlooms. She grew up learning that jewellery is about meaning, not trends.
Together, we (Em & Waimun) saw how confusing the engagement ring process can feel β especially when you're doing it for the first time. With so much choice and not much clear guidance, itβs easy to feel overwhelmed.
We wanted to make it simpler, more personal.
Taels was built to guide you through custom jewellery in a way that feels thoughtful, not transactional β with honest advice, meaningful design, and pieces created for your story β not pulled from a shelf.

HENRY SHUM
The heart of Taels' craftsmanship lies in the skilled hands of our expert jeweller, who arrived in Australia in 1975 and has dedicated more than 48 years to creating fine jewellery. Always drawn to creativity and finer details, he studied jewellery making and attained certification in Sydney, developing a reputation for precision and quality.
His dual expertise as both a jeweller and watchmaker, servicing luxury timepieces including Rolex, brings a unique technical understanding to every piece he creates.
What makes our jeweller special is his ability to infuse each creation with meaning. Having built his own life in Australia piece by piece, he understands that jewellery isn't merely decorativeβit carries stories, marks milestones, and connects generations.
